Our Story
Under a captain's vision.
In the 1890s, Captain John Flynn, master of the ship Lornty, settled in Seattle, Washington, with his wife and children after a lifetime at sea. His daughter, Evelyn, married William O'Connell, who, on Captain Flynn's advice, founded Lornty Investment Company, naming it after one of the vessels Flynn had captained.
Inspired by Captain Flynn's entrepreneurial spirit, O'Connell began developing residential lots in North Seattle and provided seller financing to help families purchase homes. He later expanded the company's holdings by acquiring and managing two hotels.
